We’re not angry about the lockdowns, we’re angry that NSW wasn’t locked down soon enough. Our strategy relies on swift and total lockdowns, which should then mean that you have to stay locked down as little as possible. Vaccine roll out very slow. On a purely selfish note, I don’t know when I’ll get back to see my grandkids. Covid has torn families apart in more than one way. Stay safe Australian friends and family  Perspective is a good thing. The numbers that put Australia into lockdown are better than the best case scenario in the rest of the world. Not so sure that the anger is that widespread. The angry are possibly more vocal on social media, but the vast majority of people I know around the country find this tedious and unpleasant, but much prefer it to the idea of a raging uncontrolled outbreak with large numbers of deaths and hospitalisations. Nah. Only the Sydneysiders are angry. The rest of us are doing what is best for our selves, families and communities.

One blame is to the Australian government, they failed with early start of vaccinations where only 14% of population are vaccinated. So sorry to hear that, but we seem to be in the same boat. How can any government get things right under all the different circumstances. What a thankless task. Have some sympathy for them. We are angry with our State and Ferderal Government and their inability to provide an effective pathway to “Normal Life”. Only 14% of our population have been fully immunised. We have no meaningful health campaign and the quarantine has been left to each state/territory which has multiple different benchmarks and goal posts. When I saw that Canada is about to reopen its borders to fully vaccinated travellers, this made me angry that we are not even close to being able to do this. Australia might look good on paper, but under the cover, there are so many shortfalls and failures, it’s a disaster waiting to happen…

And the people he delivered to, decided that the two week quarantine rule they were supposed to adhere to after moving to Victoria from a hotzone in Sydney, decided that they would go fill up their car with petrol, then go shopping in a local shopping centre! So I am not angry that we are in lockdown. It’s necessary, I have a child with Cystic Fibrosis and we would do anything to keep her safe. But I am angry that healthy careless people do not consider for a moment when they are doing the wrong thing the impact they have on others.

They should be thankful that they have a government who will actually deal with it.
